Course Narrative
This class fulfill MLO 2 because it is about linguistics. In SPAN 313 we were able to study about phonology which means the part of linguistics that study sounds as functional elements within each language. We also saw morphology which means the part of the grammar that studies the internal form and structure of words. I presented about phonology and a friend presented about morphology from Colombia and Puerto Rico. For example, for phonology I made some examples for these two countries, and one of my classmates focus on morphology and she used some examples too. In addition, another classmate present some examples as well of something else. I really like to work in group activities. Definitely, I demonstrated my knowledge through this group presentation. I gained more about some concepts of the linguistics aspect. For example, the articulation of the phones. It was really difficult to recognize the parts that we used when we pronounce a word, but after all it was easier to identify them because of that.I wish to develop further in the area of phonetics. Also, I want to develop further in morphemes as well. This course is connected with SPAN 345 because we saw linguistics in that class to. Although we studied a little bit about linguistics in that course, I got the idea of what a linguistics class will be about. I intend to explore this learning experience by practicing the aspects of linguistics more almost everyday to obtain more knowledge about them. The most important thing is that I will retain more information about it.
