Course description
Directed toward Spanish majors preparing for their Capstone experience, this 2 unit course aims to guide the student in the process of completing a capstone proposal and initiating the preliminary steps toward the graduation portfolio. The portfolio provides evidence that a student is making satisfactory progress toward meeting the Core requirements and Major Learning Outcomes (MLOs) for the Spanish B.A. (Prereq: WLC 300 and Consent from Instructor)
This course meets MLO 6 because it is about knowing how to research for a theme.

Course Narrative
This class fulfill MLO 6 because it is about learning how to investigate a theme. In SPAN 300 we were able to get preparate for our Capstone Project. First at all, we are going to do a capstone proposal for complete our project for it will motivate us to do our work by the day that we said. We learned about how to do an annotated bibliography. So, a classmate and I did one annotated biography. For instance, we had to find some credible sources and read them to do a summary for each source. A classmate and I found some sources about Juan Rulfo and Juan Benet. The idea for doing that was to do a scheme about what we are going to talk about for our capstone project. We are going to talk about How is the historical context presented in the novel Pedro Páramo by Juan Rulfo and in Volverás a Región de Juan Benet? How is politics reflected through magical realism in the novel by Rulfo and Benet? Basically, in this course we were able to organize a scheme by following the steps of it. I gained how to organize things such as Scheme, a annotated biography and a chronology. I wish to develop further in getting the correct sources that will support our topic. I think this course is connected with WLC 300 because in both classes there is a guide to follow to succeed in our major. I intend to further explore this learning experience by having more organization and fulfilling with the work that I have to do.
