WLC 300: World Language & Culture Major Pro-Seminar
Course description
This course introduces students to the majors in Japanese Language and Culture, Spanish or World Language and Cultures. Students acquire knowledge and understanding needed to fulfill Major Learning Outcomes for the programs. Students identify and work with a major advisor to develop individual learning plans. The course examines opportunities in related professional and career paths, including graduate education and teaching credential preparation.

Course Narrative
In WLC 300 we were able to develop some skills, understandings needed to fulfill the requirements and the major learning outcomes. Basically, we were able to meet with an advisor to find out about the courses that we need to take. For example, my advisor told me that I have to take Spanish courses and other courses such as a second culture class, and a Gwar class that are required to graduate. Our advisor created an ILP for she wanted us to take the correct courses. Spanish is my major. This class is so important because it guided me to obtain my B.A. In addition, we were able to see few workshops. For example, we learned about study abroad. Also, we learned about how to get in the credential program. We also had a workshop about a Master degree. Basically, we knew the requirements that a students should have to get in. Another thing that we saw was about how to do a resume and a personal statement. What I focus more was a personal statement. First at all, I knew how to create it. Honestly, it was so difficult for me to make a personal statement, but I followed a guide and it really helped me. I think that this course is connected with SPAN 300 which is about pre-capstone which is about to prepare us by guiding us how the capstone project will be about. I intend to further experience by practicing more technology because I am lost.
